I've been too quiet, sorry everyone.
Hi everyone, its been a crazy few months, in late february i spent 4 weeks in hospital due to Trochenteric Bursitis, basically i had burst muscle sacks around my left hip and thigh, i was laid up in bed in so much pain and no energy to write. i then had to start a new drug called RoActremra, which were self inject injections, it made me very ill, my neutrophils went to 0.8 after a short amount of time, so i was at high risk of infection. so then i was of medications for 3 months and still off them now, in that time i had two toxic knees which both had to be drained, i'll see if i can share some pics here, but i also had to do a month trial of putting all my food triggers back in my diet, that month was hell, i was getting bad swellings, nodules back on my fingers, i lost a lot of weight, so i wasn't absorbing nutrients, i'm down to just under 6 stone, my right hand is getting weak and starting to claw over, its the knuckle next to my little finger that looks like its going to go anytime soon. there is a possibly i will need more knuckle replacements, but on my right hand this time, i'm going to try and put this off as long as possible, because now i am back to full elimination diet things seem to be improving slowly but surely. my tests for coeliac disease came back clear, but Allergy tests came back clear to, so i'm very confused here, but every time i cut out Gluten/Wheat Dairy Red Meat, Pork is a big NO and Caffeine and now i've found prawns are a big trigger, i'm not sure about other shellfish, i can only have oats as long as they are definitely gluten free and strawberries seem to affect me to, totally gutted on that one, i just switch to raspberries instead, i am also on a pureed diet, which makes this all difficult, if i remember i'll do a post about best blenders i've found too. but anyways i'm now going to be monitored by blood tests on how my immunoglobin (i can't spell that by the way!!) to see how it is when i'm following strict diet. i also start a new anti tnf in a couple of weeks, called Certolizumab Pegol, i'm very nervous, but really hope it will prevent my right hand from needing more surgery, so watch this space, i'll update again very soon, when have more to write, but i just wanted to let you guys know briefly what was going on, i've found it very hard to record harp and piano often, because of the high pain levels i've been in, i've only been able to record a handful of times since i've been out of hospital, i'm not giving up i'm determined to play more often as soon as i can, big hugs to you all xxx
